Club Connect: Meet the… Computer Society
Galloway, N.J. – Society runs on computers, so slow down and grab a byte with the .
The Computer Society is an organization at 鶹ý with a mission to “foster personal enrichment and growth in the field of computer science and technology by educating the Stockton community on issues dealing with technology.” It provides students a place to meet and connect with peers with a similar interest in computer science.
The club is currently working to host Game Jams, where members work together to create a video game from scratch. They also look forward to hosting a Linux workshop with a faculty instructor coming in to lead their members. This would be a sample lab using Linux, an open-source operating system, to try out before taking a class on the subject.

Club vice president and secretary, Natalie Belomonte, described the structure of the club’s meetings, where they host a variety of events. Some weeks, they choose a topic focused on computer science to discuss. In others, they host more social meetings that promote networking with other peers. The club even invites professors in the technology field to lecture their members.
While many members come from a range of computer-focused backgrounds, anybody interested in technology or students considering a technological major are encouraged to join.
