Galloway, N.J. – Registration is open now for the 29th annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway, presented by , from Jan. 13-16.

The , held at Seaview Hotel in Galloway, has become one of the oldest and largest writers’ conferences in the winter season. Beginner and experienced writers will receive craft discussion, writing prompts, writing time, feedback, motivation and inspiration.

“By spending the entire weekend in one workshop, participants will venture deeper into their writing, making more progress than they thought possible,” founder Peter Murphy said.

Registration is open to anyone interested in writing fiction, memoir, nonfiction, poetry, songwriting and hybrid forms. Writers of all levels are welcome.

“The Murphy Getaways are truly the highlight of each year for me,” said Dione Carroll of Pueblo, Colorado. “I get the chance to focus on the things dearest to my heart alongside those of a like mind. There’s nothing like it in Jersey — every writer owes it to himself to go at least once in their life.”

The sliding-scale tuition between $495 and $595 includes a 15-hour writing workshop and most meals. Attendees also can participate in open mics, tutorials, networking, sunrise yoga, dancing at the Getaway Disco and writerly camaraderie. �鶹��ý’s Dance Program will choreograph performances inspired by Getaway faculty writers’ work to perform during the weekend. Six scholarships will be awarded to first-time participants.

In addition, South Jersey teachers whose schools are part of Stockton’s Educational Technology Training Center (ETTC) may be able to attend the Winter Getaway using their school’s ETTC credits. To learn more, teachers should visit .

“As teachers, because of all of the pressures and obligations of life, we usually don’t take time for ourselves and our own writing,” said Molly Esposito of Flemington. “That was the greatest gift of the Winter Getaway weekend for me.”
